Dakkan Abbe / Matthias Roeckl
Dakkan Abbe and Matthias Roeckl have each been documenting the lives of extraordinary people for over 20 years, creating must-see films of artists, dreamers, performers, craftspeople and storytellers. Their work has been seen on television networks in the USA, Germany, Italy, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries around the world.
Dakkan is a Swedish-American filmmaker and has returned to Italy many times in his career, documenting the rich cultural life of the country and its resourceful and endlessly creative people. He is the founder and owner of the Brooklyn-based production company Trivium Films.
Matthias is an award winning journalist who discovered his passion for storytelling as a radio producer in Munich.
Since 2004 he has documented the cultural lives and music scene of Brooklyn and beyond. Among his interviewees are every day people and creative pioneers such as as Rick Rubin, Erykah Badu and Iggy Pop.
